You don’t control the weather.
You don’t control other drivers.
You don’t control the economy.
You don’t control your spouse.
You don’t control your children. If they’re younger, you may think you do, but you really don’t.
You don’t control your boss. And if you’re the boss, you don’t really control your employees.
You don’t control God. You especially don’t control God. And don’t think your obedience will compel Him to act like you want Him to. It just won’t.
You really don’t control anything or anyone. Of course, you do have responsibility for controlling yourself, but you know how hard that can be.
Bottom line: God is control of all those people and situations that frustrate you everyday. If He wanted to change anything, He could. At any time. There’s nothing stopping Him.
So if the frustrating people and situations are still in your life, maybe God is interested in working on your responses to them. If He was as worked up about them as you are, then He’d change them.
You and I can either trust God and work on our responses or we can continue to be frustrated, angry or discouraged.
I don’t know about you, but for me it’s a lot harder than it sounds, but what other choice do I really have?
So what are you going to do?
