Prayer God Always Answers #2

This is the second in the series, “Prayer God Always Answers.”

When we pray according to God’s will, we can have confidence He will answer. This prayer is patterned after Paul’s prayer in Colossians 1:9-14. Pray it for yourself, your family and friends and believe God will answer.

Father, I thank You for hearing me when I pray. And I thank You for the confidence to know that when I pray according to Your will, You will not only hear me, but answer me.

I ask You to fill me with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Help me to not go my own way and to live according to my own wisdom. I want to know Your will for me. I need Your wisdom. I need to know Your mind.

I know the wisdom of this world is not from You. I don’t want to follow the pattern of this world. I don’t even want to follow “common sense” as the world would define it. It wasn’t common sense that led Noah to build a boat to save his family and a bunch of animals from a flood. It wasn’t common sense that caused Abraham and Sarah to believe You’d make them into a great nation. Common sense said Goliath should have defeated David. Common sense doesn’t lead to commanding a dead man to come out of his tomb after four days. So Father, I want to know Your ways, not the common sense ways of the world. I want to walk by faith. I want to believe You, not my circumstances. Help me, Father. Help me, believe.

Help me live a life worthy of You, so that my thoughts, my words and my actions are pleasing to You. Yes, Father, I want You to receive pleasure from my life. I want to bear fruit in everything I do. Help me display Your character to those around me. And help me live in the power of Your Holy Spirit.

Apart from You, I cannot bear fruit that pleases You. I am totally dependent on You to live Your life through me and bear fruit in every good work.

Strengthen me with Your power, Holy Spirit. Help me to be patient. Help me to endure. When life gets hard, help me rely even more on You.

Father, I thank You for choosing me and for forgiving my sin. Apart from the death and resurrection of Jesus, I was not qualified to know You and inherit all that You have for me. But through Jesus, I will experience the joy of heaven.

Thank you for rescuing me from the dominion of darkness and bringing me into the kingdom of Your Son. Thank you for redeeming me through the blood of Jesus, for forgiving all of my sins. Thank you, Father.
