It’s very tempting to follow the latest financial news. Dow plummets! Foreclosures on the increase! Banks fail! Housing prices decline!
I find that the more I entertain those types of stories, the more I become anxious. Is it any wonder?
God hasn’t changed. His promise to meet the needs of those who seek first His kingdom and His righteousness still stands.
It doesn’t mean we won’t experience the loss of a job or the devaluing of an investment account, but we have a sure Rock on which to stand when the financial winds and waves come against us.
Could it be that difficult economic times are an opportunity for us to display peace and calm when those around us are anxious and afraid?
If the object of our faith is the stock market, federal reserve policies or the lastest bill on Capitol Hill, then we have reason to be afraid, but not if our trust is in the One who loves us and has promised to meet our every need.
