In an earlier post this month, I talked about how much I love anticipating Christmas. It’s such a magical, mysterious time of year and the next few days are the best of the best.
As a parent, I love dropping hints to my kids about presents they’ll receive on Christmas morning. It lets them know they can anticipate good things.
So I have to wonder if God also likes to use the power of anticipation. If I have an unmet need or can’t see how a particular situation will work out–do you think God simply wants me to anticipate the good things He’s going to do for me?
I would be hurt if my kids were worried and anxious in the days before Christmas because they didn’t think there would be presents for them under the tree.
I have to believe it hurts God when I worry rather than anticipate what He’s about to do for me.
What would it be like to replace worry with anticipation?
